Our History

Graphicly Graphicly is a cutting-edge digital content delivery system and community platform for the publishing world. Graphicly's first product focuses on comic publishers, creators and enthusiasts, and provides an immersive social experience and marketplace around digital comics and associated merchandise.

The company is also looking to expand its community platform and become the de facto solution for artists and creators to interact with their fans and expand the reach and influence of their own content.

The Team

  • Micah Baldwin

    CEO

    Micah Baldwin Micah is CEO and Chief Community Caretaker of Graphicly. Graphicly provides an immersive social experience and marketplace around digital comics and associated merchandise.

    Previously, Micah was VP, Business Development and Chief Evangelist for Lijit Networks, the sixth startup Micah has been involved in (having sold his last startup, Current Wisdom, in the beginning of 2007).

    Micah got his start as a university fundraiser, being one of the first to fuze online activities and marketing strategies into alumni fund-raising. In 1996, he sent one of the first email campaigns to help drive alumni fundraising. Over his career, Micah helped universities such as The Catholic University of America and the University of San Diego see their annual giving programs grow by more than 150%.

    Focusing on business development, online marketing and advertising, and product strategy, Micah was instrumental in the growth of companies such as MyPersonal (now Synacor - IPO), ServiceMagic (acquired by IAC), Indigio Group (acquired by Bridgeline Software) and other less successful startups, such as Kozmo.com.

    Micah has helped author several books on internet and search marketing, and started the #followfriday meme on Twitter, which has become part of the fabric of the social web. A frequent speaker and with appearances on CNN and articles in many of the leading blogs, including Mashable and ReadWriteWeb, you can read about Micah's philosophy of success through failure on http://learntoduck.com/.

    Unofficial Bio: There are a few things that I truly enjoy: writing (blogging and creatively) art (collecting and appreciating), teaching (mostly through coaching youth lacrosse), and hanging out with my dogs (Billie and Taylor).   • Micah Laaker

    VP of Product

    Micah LaakerLaaker leads product development for Graphicly's multi-platform content discovery strategy. His background in designing products ranges from online Disney games to Stan Lee's 1st online venture to Island Def Jam Music Group's label and artist sites to Yahoo!'s personalization and developer platforms.

    He lives in sunny Mountain View, CA with his wife, son, and mammoth music collection, and he is known for his affinity to his home state: Nebraska.

    Favorite characters include Daredevil, Hellboy, and Jugger Grimrod.

  • David M. Uslan

    VP of Business Development

    David M. UslanDavid M. Uslan has spent his entire life in the comic book and entertainment industry. Beginning his career at ICM in New York City, Uslan quickly discovered his passion for creative development and began to focus on obtaining intellectual properties through out the comic book and literary world. As Vice President of Development for his father, Michael Uslan, David assisted in the development of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Constantine, National Treasure, The Spirit, and many other films and television properties.

    Recognizing Graphicly's ability to pave the way for the future of comics, Uslan joined the company in May 2010 as Vice President of Business Development. Within 8 months, Graphicly now works with over 150 worldwide publishers as well as the industry's top talent. He is also a Pisces, enjoys good Mexican food, has a wonderful collection of Luchador masks, and is always in need of a vacation.

  • Ron Richards

    VP of External Relations

    Ron RichardsBorn and raised on the mean streets of Long Island, NY, Ron Richards has been reading & collecting comics for more than 2/3s of his life, beginning with Uncanny X-Men #269, which led to his co-founding of iFanboy.com in 2001. Since then Ron has been a pioneer in the 21st century comics media, cultivating one of the most popular audio podcast and Internet TV shows about comics, as well as growing the iFanboy community to one of the best in the world. Ron resides in San Francisco amongst the thriving startup and entrepreneurial environment there.

  • Dan Theurer

    VP of Engineering

    Dan TheurerDan leads the engineering team for Graphicly, supporting all aspects of site operations and software development. Previously, Dan headed up Engineering for the Yahoo! Developer Network, the central source for developers to find web services, tools, and resources to leverage Yahoo!'s open platforms. Dan drove early adoption for developer initiatives at Yahoo!, extending the program from its first service to over 50 offerings. His team was also responsible for Partner Integration and Evangelism, working directly with third party partners such as Zynga, Facebook, and Reuters to build applications that integrate with Yahoo! services and platforms. Dan has spoken at several conferences around the world including Future of Web Apps, World Wide Web Conference, XML Conference, AJAXWorld, CSDN-DrDobbs. Prior to Yahoo!, Dan worked for eBay's Developers Program on open source software and platform evangelism.

    His favorite comic book character is Lucky Luke and he is a huge fan BOOM!'s content. Born and raised in Germany, he holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science and currently resides in the Bay Area with his wife, son, and daughter.
