All that's known is that, for all intents and purposes, humans became immortal. This is what happens next. The repercussions of "the healing" come home. Retirement villages are forcing now healthy elderly residents out of their rooms and back with their families. And not every family or resident is ready for the sudden change. Meanwhile, Donna Gibbs (President of Vanness-Headley Corporation's Pharmatherapeutics R&D division) is having problems with her new assistant, Anthony, as he starts to doubt Donna's reasons for investigating "the healing."
